The Real Estate Market – Boston, Cambridge, Somerville

The residential real estate market, through thick and thin, has been a bulwark of the US economy. Certainly, in our market place, its energy is relentless. However, it is a market of price points, some stronger than others. It is also a market of inventory, which to date, hasn’t been able to satisfy consumer demand. The final ingredient has been the strength of interest rates– a driving force for purchases too attractive to dismiss.

Within the past few years the Boston area was targeted along with San Francisco, California and Austin, Texas as one of the three greatest places to live and work based on the availability of talent and technology as well as a tolerance for a variety of beliefs and values. Published themes like this and our own commitment to living here reinforces what great communities we have in the greater Boston area. Communities supported by our businesses and educational institutions and the desire to live here increasing the pressure to buy property in Boston, Cambridge and Somerville. So, for the foreseeable future, the market is strong with good demand, but subject to fall and winter seasonality.
