Cambridge Residential Exemption
Several cities and towns in Massachusetts offer a “Residential Exemption” to homeowners who occupy their primary residence. The Cambridge Residential Exemption valuation amount for 2012 is set at $198,085; which results in a tax savings of $1,679.76 for homeowners who qualify. To qualify for residential tax exemption you must own and occupy your property as your principal residence as of January 1 of the current tax year.
